Michael "Mick" Murphy () born in Liverpool, is a former Physical education teacher, Television Actor, and rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1960s and '70s, playing club level rugby union (RU) for Waterloo R.F.C., and playing representative level rugby league (RL) for Wales, and Lancashire, and at club level for Leigh, Barrow, St. Helens, Bradford Northern, Wagga Wagga (New South Wales, Australia), Tonneins XIII (France), and St. Jacques XIII (France) as a , i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums. Mick Murphy taught at Howard Street College, Barrow-in-Furness.
